2)a) I really like English. It's one of my favourite subjects. I think that learning English is really interesting and it can allow me to communicate with foreigners from all over the world. I think that English will be important for finding a job in the future.

2)b) Personally, I think that English grammar is the most difficult part of learning English. There is a great difference between the grammar in Chinese and that in English, therefore it is quite difficult for Chinese students to master English. Even though we learn English grammar at school, I feel that I still need to work hard at this aspect of the langauage.

2)c) It's important for everyone to know some English, we all may need to communicate with foreigners at some time in the future, for example at work or when travelling to other countries on holiday. I would also like to help foreign visitors to China to better understand our rich culture, the best way to do this is to speak English, the most important global language at present.

2)d)我给别人写这个答案：Yes, English is a very "messy" language. There are many reasons for saying this.
1) English pronunciation is messy. Sometimes words are pronounced in one way and at other times they are pronounced in another way: a good example is: read (读，原型动词） and read （读的过去式). They are both spelled in the same way but their meanings are different
2) English grammar is untidy. There are often exceptions to rules in English grammar, e.g. the third person plural, why can we say "I want" but we must say "he wants". This is weird. Also a lot of verbs are irregular, e.g. "to be" (I am, you are, he is and so on). This is unnecessary!
3) American and British English are quite different in the words they use and the spelling of some words, e.g. there are differences in "colour" and "color".
4) Some words are strange, for example: pineapple does not have "pine" or "apple" inside it, French fries were not first made in France.
Overall, it's difficult to learn English, this messy language.

3）b) To be honest I don't agree that English should be the only language on offer for college students. Therefore, I don't think that English should be a compulsory course for all college students. We should give people the option to choose the language which is of most interest to them.

3)c)I think that the most useful course that we have studied to date is the listening and speaking class. In this class we were able to hear a lot of useful English dialogues and we also had the chance to use English to give our own opinions and ideas about a range of subjects. I think that listening is a very difficult part of the English language so I was very happy to be able to improve this area. I was also very glad to have the opportunity to improve my spoken English and to gain confidence when speaking the language.
