石油埋藏在地下有孔隙裂缝的岩石中,石油工程师为了更直观地了解地层中油气的真实面貌,总是希望从井下取出含有油气的岩心来。目前,获取井下岩心的方法主要有射孔取心和钻井取心两种。少量零星的岩心可下入电缆进行射孔取心,但射孔取心取出的岩心体积小、数量少,又是间断不连续的,地质家们分析起来难度较大。人们为了更直观地分析井下的地层和油砂,一般多采用常规钻井方法进行钻井取心。
钻井取心时,要在下入井内钻柱的最下端,接上一套特制的取心工具,取心钻头在垂直载荷和扭矩的联合作用下,对井底的岩石进行环形破碎,中间保留一圆柱状岩心进入岩心筒。当钻进取心到一定长度后,采用与工具相匹配的方法和措施,将钻头端部的岩心割断后起钻,取心工具与钻具一起提出地面后,即可取出岩心筒内的岩心。钻井取心具有岩心粗(一般岩心直径可达100~120毫米)、岩心长、岩心完整等优点,可以充分满足地质家对岩心进行多种项目的化验和测试,是获取地下储层岩性、物性和储层评价有重要意义的手段。目前,钻井取心一般可分为常规钻井取心和特殊钻井取心两种,前者有短、中、长筒取心,后者有定向井取心、水平井取心、密闭取心、保持压力取心和保形冷冻取心等。
我国钻井取心技术的发展很快,目前与国外钻井取心技术水平基本同步。20世纪60~70年代,大庆、胜利、大港等油田曾分别创出了钻井长筒取心的世界记录,一次下井取心最长可达145.42米。80年代,常规钻井取心技术已接近国外水平。90年代,又在上部浅、松、散地层取心和钻井密闭取心工具的研制方面达到国际先进水平。
