Pursuit of Happiness
What is happiness? The answer varies from person to person. Some people regard happiness as the richness of their possessions, so their pursuit of happiness is equal to pursuing the luxurious houses, cars and enjoyable life. Some think that happiness is the admirable status and the power to influence the world, so there are a bunch of people aiming to become great politicians or successful executives. However, in my opinion, happiness is a kind of satisfaction about yourself and appreciation towards life. It is a feeling rising deep from your heart, and it’s a kind of faith—only you believe, does it exist.
To achieve happiness, there are many factors are necessary, of which attitude is very outstanding. An optimistic is the key to happiness. In stead of losing yourself in the past anger, depression or grief, you can cherish what you’ve already got, and appreciate the company of your family and friends. Thus, the light of happiness is just ahead of you.
Another factor must be stressed is a willing heart. As Gandhi said,“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” In other words, through helping others with a willing heart, you can find the values within you. Of course, you’ll feel greatly happy. What’s more, think about the sweet smile and grateful “Thank you” expressed to you as a reward after you do somebody a favor. Happiness wells up from your heart.
Meanwhile it can’t be denied that achievement can also be a kind of happiness. If you achieve your goal after a period of hard work, you, definitely, are supposed to be happy and proud of yourself. Actually, in the journey of pursuing your dreams, you may have understood exactly what happiness truly means.
All in all, happiness does not depend on the external factors, but is due to your attitude towards life; happiness is not related to wealth or power, even a beggar has his own happiness; happiness arises from your generosity of giving others a hand, as well as your endeavor to realize your dreams. Happiness hides in every corner of your life. Just with a joyful heart, she’ll come to visit you sooner or later.
