If I had to describe a sport, I would choose to talk about table tennis.I am not sure if you have played it before. It is more commonly known as ping-pong.The sport is widely practised throughout the world. Table tennis made its Olympic debut as a full medal sport during the Olympic Games in Seoul. It was never contested at the Olympics as a demonstration sport. Since the late 1950s, the Chinese have been by far the dominant country in table tennis.
Table tennis is extremely popular in China. That is to say, many people of all ages like to play.China is often regarded as the world champions. For example, we often win medals in this sport at the Olympic Games.There are several reasons as for why I would like to talk specifically about table tennis. Allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.
First of all, it is an indoor sport. What I mean to say is that we are able to play it irrespective of the weather conditions. In my hometown, this is important because of the long winters.Secondly, the equipment needed to play table tennis is inexpensive. For instance, you can use any table of a reasonable size. Al you then need is a ball, two bats, and a net.Lastly, table tennis is a sociable sport. That is to say, two or four people can play at one time, while a number of spectators can enjoy the game as well.
Table tennis has become the world's largest participation sport, I like the event very much.
乒乓球是一项竞技运动，有许多人酷爱这项运动，这里面也包括我，我和妈妈经常去会所打乒乓球，所以，乒乓球成了我最喜欢的运动。
我暑假开始学的乒乓球，记得七月份的那天下午，烈日炎炎，我和妈妈拿着乒乓球拍来到了会所，不巧，管理处的工作人员在开会，我和妈妈，只好先在一楼等着，我们一直等了两个小时，他们才开完会，我和妈妈急匆匆地往楼上跑，“哇！好大的乒乓球台呀！”我惊讶地说。
妈妈先教我怎样发球，把球往上一扔，用球拍把球打到乒乓球台上，然后我就和妈妈一起打了起来。快乐的时光就是这么快，一个小时过去了，我和妈妈恋恋不舍地离开了会所，我在心里默默地问，什么时候再来呢？
奥运会期间，我国的乒乓球队为中国赢得了4枚金牌2枚银牌2枚铜牌，因此，我对乒乓球有了更进一步的了解，我也对乒乓球更感兴趣了。
这学期，学校开设了乒乓球兴趣班，我特别想参加，可正好跟我星期六的英语课的时间重叠。虽然我学乒乓球没多久，但我被它深深的魅力给吸引住了。现在开学了，我只能在周末才能与乒乓球亲密接触了，那将是我一个星期中最快乐的时光！
